Nastya Metelkina gets Olympic tattoo with Georgian grape leaves

Georgian figure skater Nastya Metelkina has gotten an Olympic rings tattoo — and it's a beautiful one.

I caught up with Nastya on her way to Georgia, where she's finally enjoying a long-awaited vacation.

"I decided long ago that if I went to the Olympics, I'd get Olympic rings tattooed right after it ended," Nastya says. One of the design options featured grape leaves, and she immediately loved it. "It looks very delicate and elegant — with a connection to Georgia."

The tattoo came together thanks to a fan who connected Nastya with a talented artist. "It turned out very beautiful. I'm very satisfied, and it meant a lot that my fans helped make this happen."

As for the process itself? "It wasn't scary at all. It turned out to feel like a cat lightly scratching — not painful."

Her parents were fully on board. "They always knew my plans and have always supported me in all my decisions."
